Doug has been installing the Solatube Daylighting Device and has been a HomeTech licensee since 2005 – proving his passion for and belief in the benefits of the Solatube Daylighting product. Doug was born and bred in the Wairarapa but was educated in Wanganui and Rangitikei. Doug completed a Business degree at Massey University before moving to Napier.

Doug has travelled extensively and has lived in the UK and Australia for 12 years. After completing his world travels he moved to Gisborne in 1993 and opened up the Golden Crust Bakery in 1995 which became Gisborne’s busiest bakery over the next seven years!

Doug is a very athletic person. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and has completed many rides around the North Island including Lake Taupo five times, and Lake Rotorua four times. Doug has also managed to tour most of New Zealand on several motorcycling trips. Not only does Doug enjoy cycling and motorcycling but also cricket (managing many cricket teams as his son is a very keen player), and enjoys investing time on personal development.

Having comprehensively trained in Australia, Doug has achieved the internationally recognised status of Certified Installation Consultant (CIC) for Solatube Daylighting Systems.
