Accommodate thermal movement

Accommodate thermal movement
April 23, 2014

Spouting systems will expand and contract as they are constantly exposed to daily and seasonal temperature cycles. ‘Uncontrolled’ thermal movement can cause spouting creep or place stress on joints, both of which can result in unwanted leaks over time.

  • Use Marley Expansion Outlets/Joiners to provide relief points
  • Control the direction of movement by screwing the spouting to the fascia at the opposite end to the outlet
