Would insulating your garage door allow you to make better use of your garage?

We Kiwis are an industrious lot, and with that comes an on-going need to find space to design, build or simply store stuff. That’s why a lot of our cars end up living outside. The garage space is often more useful for everything but parking!

So how do you make sure you can get the most out of your garage? By making it more like any other room in your house and that includes insulating it.

If you are building a new home, give some serious consideration to insulating the walls and roof of your garage. If you have an existing home, this may not be a practical option, but in both cases upgrading your garage door to one that is insulated makes very good sense.

In a similar way that double glazing your windows works, insulating the large chunk of metal that is your garage door helps to minimise heat transfer, (gain or loss) from your garage.

Garador offers a range of sectional garage doors that contain factory-fitted insulation, which is important to note. Retrofitting insulation to an existing door can be done but is never perfect and the weight of the door changes so that the springs and motor at the very least need adjusting if not replacing entirely. Failure to do so will void warranties and endanger your family.

Garador insulated doors are made using our existing time-tested profiles with precision cut insulation added. This ensures a durable, rigid door that does not rely on glue and insulation for its strength. At the same time your door becomes an excellent barrier to noise pollution. The acoustic qualities of our insulated garage doors help shield against noise entering and/or exiting your garage – great for busy roads or budding musicians!

Team an insulated door up with one of our premium belt-drive GDO-9 openers with Triocode™128 security and you’ll struggle to hear it opening and closing while you’re in the garage, let alone from an adjacent room.

All this is fancy stuff but the bottom line is Garador’s insulated garage doors will help regulate the temperature and noise in your garage so you can use it the way you want to.

Yet another reason to talk to your nearest Garador Dealer today about a door & opener package that perfectly fits your lifestyle now and into the future.
