When choosing lighting for your home look into what is the most energy efficient lighting. These days energy efficient doesn’t necessarily mean unusual or unappealing looking lighting. Recessed downlights for example are now available as LEDs which are a great energy efficient option.
LED (Light emitting diode) lighting produces a white light and has a much longer life span than traditional lighting so there is less need to change light bulbs as often.
When building or renovating also consider where you place your lighting. You may find a light is handy to have in a wardrobe space or in the roof space for being able to see items you have in storage.
