It is nearly double the number of homes that were originally estimated to be done in year one, and puts the programme well on track to help make 188,500 homes warmer and healthier by 2013.

With over 130,000 households being targeted during the coming three years, there is still plenty of funding available.

All pre-2000 households are eligible for 33% of the cost of installing ceiling and underfloor insulation, up to a maximum of $1300 including GST. There is also a $500 grant towards a clean, efficient heating system – ceiling and underfloor insualtion must be up to standard first. Higher levels of funding are available to Community Services Card holders.

With winter well and truly here, there’s no better time to get insulation and heating sorted for a warmer, healthier and more comfortable home.
