How do I Future-Proof my Tiling?

Read some of our advice and information below to help you Future-Proof your project.

There are a multitude of different tiles on the market. You can create a masterpiece in your home using some of the stunning tiles available. However, first and foremost select areas in your home to tile. You can use tiles on walls and floors and even as a kitchen splashback.

Typically smaller tiles are used for smaller spaces such as bathrooms, toilets, while large tiles are used for larger areas such as living rooms and outdoor areas. Larger tiles tend to be more expensive and can be difficult to ship as they are more prone to breaking.

When selecting the colour of your tiles it is a good idea to bring with you colour swatches of other items in your home such as the paint colour or carpet sample as some tiles can take on the colour of their surroundings.

Remember bold colours or patterns may be the trend for now but not a great long term solution so think carefully before making your purchase. You can also get patterns on tiles so instead of a bright colour you may opt for texture instead.

Finally the finish of tiles is of great importance because selecting a tile with non-slip features may be a better choice than a glossy tile in some areas of the home.
